Nicolle Katrivanos is partner with Herischi & Associates, LLC. Nicolle has experience in international human rights law, employment-based immigration, family-based immigration, and removal defense. Before joining Herischi & Associates, LLC, she was an associate attorney at Jay S. Mark's Law Office in Silver Spring, M.D.
Prior to conducting immigration work, Ms. Katrivanos dedicated over four years to international human rights work in Latin America. During this time, she coordinated global projects supporting health initiatives, including an initiative with the Bar Association of Costa Rica and the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights to organize the Second Latin American Legal Congress, which included UN Special Rapporteur to Health and the former president of Chile as guest speakers. Ms. Katrivanos was also awarded a grant from Santa Clara Law School to open and manage a legal clinic in El Salvador. While working in Latin America, she presented in front of the Human Rights Commission in Geneva, and published favorable recommendations that spearheaded women's health initiatives in El Salvador and Central America. She also provided legal support to lawyers submitting briefs and organized amicus briefs for a constitutional tribunal lawsuit. Ms. Katrivanos has participated at international legal conferences and academic events to direct workshops and training panels on various international human righs issues and international litigation strategies. She has also advocated for international human rights on radio broadcasts.
Ms. Katrivanos received her B.A. from University of Maryland in 2004, and her J.D. from University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2009. She is licensed to practice in Maryland and eligible to waive into D.C. She is fluent in Spanish, and speaks Portuguese and Greek.
